Over the last 20 or so years there has been considerable research in organisational interest into business and organisational growth. Such research has shown that organisations tend to progress through a series of discrete development phases each with its own challenges and problems. Previous studies have shown that there is a series of critical points as organisations grow that create a growth crisis. Understanding the conditions and factors that lead to a growth crisis is immensely helpful to organisations.
